Piano Tuning & Repair in Guelph
Looking for piano tuning Guelph homeowners can rely on? Oxford Piano Service provides professional piano tuning, repair, and care for pianos throughout Guelph and the surrounding area. A piano is an investment — whether it’s been passed down through your family, bought new, or picked up secondhand — and keeping it properly maintained makes a real difference in how it sounds, how it feels to play, and how well it holds its value over time.
We work with:
- Homeowners with a family piano in daily use
- Schools and music programs
- Private teaching studios and their students
- New and secondhand piano owners who want a professional opinion before or after a purchase
Piano tuning is the foundation of everything else we do. Changes in temperature and humidity — something Guelph sees plenty of across the seasons — pull a piano’s strings slightly out of tune even with light, everyday use. Regular tuning keeps pitch stable and catches smaller issues before they become bigger ones. Most pianos benefit from tuning once or twice a year, though instruments that see heavy use, have recently been moved, or sit in rooms with significant humidity swings may need more frequent attention.
Beyond tuning, we handle piano repair and refurbishing for a wide range of issues — sticking or sluggish keys, worn hammers, damaged strings, loose or rattling parts, and more. Pianos are mechanically complex instruments with thousands of moving parts, and problems that seem minor from the outside usually have a specific, fixable cause once you know where to look. We diagnose the actual issue rather than guessing, and recommend repairs that make sense for the piano’s age, condition, and how it’s actually played.
We also offer regulation and voicing for Guelph clients who want their piano not just in tune, but playing and sounding the way it should — regulation adjusts the mechanical parts of the action so the keys respond evenly, while voicing shapes the tone of the hammers for the room and the player. For humidity-sensitive homes, we can also advise on protecting a piano’s tuning stability between visits.
If you’re buying, selling, or simply curious about a piano’s condition and value, we provide assessments and appraisals as well — useful whether you’ve inherited an instrument or are weighing a used piano you’ve found. You can see our complete range of services, along with pricing, on our What We Do page.
